Review : Ashvamedha by Aparna Sinha.

Ashvamedha

Author : Aparna Sinha

Publishers : Shristi Publishers

ISBN-10 : 9382665765

ISBN-13 : 978-9382665762

My Review :

Politics is the worst thing that can happen to a person. It doesn't allow you to differentiate between good or bad. Opportunities can make a foe your friend and vice-versa. You can trust a politician.

Ashvamedha, a novel written by Aparna Sinha and published by Shristi Publishers clearly gives us an insight of the above views. In this novel, the lead character is Ashwin Jamwal, the young dynamic leader who has hold in the masses and especially girls for his charming personality. He is the President of Nationalistic Party. Though an IAS by profession, he was sick of the corrupt system. So he joined the party. He sacrified his love, Adya in a way to correct the system and to become the most powerful person in India and the world.

How did Ashwin become the P.M. of India..?
What was his past..? Who was Hades?
Why did Hades want to destroy the world..?
Did Arun, the only and best friend of Ashwin plan to kill Ashwin..?

You need to read this exciting story to know how the events unfolded.

Ashvamedha isn't a typical story about love, lust, politics and others. It has more to it. It shows us to what extent a person can go to control what he wants.

The characterisation is superb. Whether is is Hades, Ashwin, Arun, Adya or others, all of them are beautifully crafted and presented. The author must be congratulated to give such a beautiful characterisation in the novel.

Moreover the plot is engaging and it keeps the reader hooked to the novel till the end. The reader won't want to keep the novel down such is the content. However the story won't be liked by one who doesn't like poitics or hate it.
The plot has all the elements to be depicted into a motion picture. Whether it is thrill, romance, politics or the fear, it shall surely be one of the best movies if produced.

So overall, a good read with a lot of politics and less of a romance. A person who even has a bit of political understanding and likes politics shall surely like the book.

About the story :

"You have to dethrone a powerful man to become the most powerful. I was itching to defeat the single most powerful person, but there wasn't any. I was left with only one choice — to create one."

Little does Ashwin Jamwal know that the last twenty-five years of his life have been controlled by a master manipulator, who wanted to make him the most powerful man on earth, though for a reason! Ashwin steps up to take oath as the youngest Prime Minister of India and is unknowingly thrown into a vortex of power and authority as the entire world is threatened by a faceless enemy — Hades.

The world starts to look up to Ashwin as the savior, but he was just a pawn, reared only to be sacrificed in the end.

A story of greed, lies, deceptions, manipulations and corruption, Ashvamedha is a thriller revolving around the infamous game of power in a maddening bid to seek absolute control.

Review : Logically Stupid, That's Love by Shikha Kumar.

Logically Stupid, That's Love.

Author : Shikha Kumar.

Publishers : Srishti Publishers.

ISBN : 978-93-82265-56-4.

My Review:
Love, the intense feeling and affection for another person is taken for granted by most of us. We don't value it unless we loose it to some other person and if it is to choose between love and career, most choose the latter unknowing the importance of love in building of career of a person.

In the beginning, love and career goes simultaneously. Life is beautiful and full of liveliness. However there comes a time where both of them crosses each other's path and one needs to take a decision and choose one among them and that decides how we mend our future.

Logically Stupid, That's Love by Shikha Kumar makes us to dive into the life of Kartik Brar, a young, energetic, passionate and career-oriented man for whom building himself and his career is of outmost priority and Sahana Khurana, a lively beautiful girl who can put any man onto his knees with her charm and beauty. Studies and Career had never been her priority until she meet Kartik.
They fall for each other. Love brought many changes in their life and happiness was all around until one fine day Kartik notices the anger of Ajit.

Who was Ajit and why was he angry?
When, how and under what circumstances did Kartik and Sahana meet for the first time?
What was the reaction of Kartik when he gets to know the real identity of Sahana? Will he continue to be with her or break her heart?
And last but not the least, Will Kartik and Sahana end up together giving a perfect end to their love?

Read this beauty by Shikha Kumar to know the answers of all the questions raising in your mind.

I had read somewhere( I don't remember properly) that a story should be such that the reader gets a change after every 6 seconds of reading. Logically Stupid completely goes on to keep this. Right from the start to the end, the story is rich and very gripping which keeps the reader hooked to it. You don't want to stop reading it.

The story starts with a perfect background with protagonist and his friends discussing about their future and careers. The message here is strongly conceived about the seriousness of the protagonist towards his career and what he wants from life.

The characters in this story are beautifully crafted amd blended. They dance together in front of the eyes when you read the novel. It doesn't get off your mind even if you aren't reading it. This was something that happened with me for the first time. It never allowed me to sit idle until I had completed the book. The portrayal of characters are so beautifully done that you never get a feeling of reading a book. It seems to be a live movie going in front of your eyes.

Moreover the novel keeps a smile on the face from very beginning to the end which is the best thing to happen. The best part of this novel is the conversation b/w Kartik and Sahana. Their talks add a lot more beauty and the way the authoress has presented the romance and thrill is just praiseworthy. The author must be congratulated for crafting the conversations so well for the most difficult part in writing a novel is the conversation part and the authoress completely lives upto the expectation or I would say it was better than what one would expect.

Though I am not a nosy-parker at grammatical mistakes, it is well-known that any kind of mistake makes reading difficult and the reader looses his/her interest. Here I would like to thank the authoress for penning down the story beautifully without any error. This is one more reason which makes the novel, a good read.

Overall the story is good and anyone whether in love or not can easily connect to it. This story is for us, the new generation who don't respect and value anything which comes easily to our life. So learn to respect what you have before situation makes you to respect what you had.

About the Story :

Kartik: Yes, I want to be successful, and that's not a crime. Trust me, I toowould have wanted the same as Ms. Stupid, but I can't toss away my hard-work of years for a girl. We would have had a beautiful love storyhad she not been my boss's daughter.

Sahana: I know he’s ambitious and doesn't know his heart well. But I'm sure one day Mr. Logical will come tomy way of thinking, and we'll have a beautiful life together thereafter.

He flirted with her for five days; she waited for him for five years, only to be shattered irrecoverably one day. Logic seems to be winning the battle, until destiny refuses to move on and adamantly brings them face to face again.

In life’s moments of struggle and comfort, the heart and mind must join hands to combat.

A love story dedicated to the generation that never values what comes easy. Wish a few logics were a little less stupid. But nevertheless…

Logically Stupid, That’s Love.

Review : Heart Of Bullets by Nikhil Kushwaha.

Heart Of Bullets

Author: Nikhil Kushwaha

Publishers: Petals Publishers

ISBN: 9789385440120

My Review:-
What is the first thing that came to your mind when you read the title of this novel?
Think before I shall share my experience with you.
.
.
.
.
.
The first thing that came to my mind reading the title of the novel "Heart Of Bullets" was bravery and pain. Though dying for the nation is pride for every soldier and his/her family, the body wrapped in the tricolour always brings tears in the eyes of the people.
This pain must be felt by every countrymen and the sacrifices made by soldiers must always be remembered.

Heart of Bullets is the story about two best friends, Arpan and Sameer who are the soldiers of Indian Army. Both of them are childhood friends and are best companion to each other. A girl, Shradha comes into the lives of both these friends and takes away the hearts of both of them. But the girl falls in love with Sameer and Arpan becomes a one-sided lover.

The story starts with Arpan narrating the incident about his latest fight with the terrorist before visiting the family for a vacation. On the second day he goes to meet his childhood friend, Shradha. While he was talking with her, suddenly he recieved a call for immediate reporting at the camp.

Why was Arpan asked for immediate reporting in the camp?
What changes does Shardha bring in when Sam falls for her?
Will they end up together or remain seperated forever?
Why does Shradha's father consume poison?
Did Arpan really sacrifice his love?
Why did Sam and Arpan join the Indian army?
At the end, who will sacrifice his love or will betrayal lead to the end of their friendship?

You will know the answers to all the questions in your mind once you read this beautiful novel.

The story starts at a very slow pace in the beginning which should have been avoided. A story should always be written such the reader doesn't feel boredom reading it which I felt in the beginning. But the way in which the author ends the story is marvellous and mindblowing. I have read very few stories which has such a beautiful ending as was in this case.

Moreover I would like to bring the attention of the author on spelling mistakes and sentence construction. Though I am not a hardliner at it, but writing/printing peace instead of piece or vice-versa is just a big blunder which must have been surely avoided with proper editing.

Overall it is a good rom-com read with full of action just like a bollywood movie. Simply awesome. I would like to recommend this book to everyone especially those who like reading books about the lives of Soldiers and those who want to take a dip into their childhood days.

About The Story:
‘The only way to get close to those glittering stars in heaven is, to look at a soldier with stars on his shoulders.’

Every time, they’re around, the thing we see is the bravery awards, medals, the pride, but we can’t see is their heart that lies inside the iron chest, some untold stories, sacrifices, and the hardship they’ve been through. Every soldier has a story that is unique and extra ordinary.

A tale of brotherhood & heroism, a tale of love and betrayal, ‘Heart of Bullets’, is about two best friends, Arpan & Sam, and the untold story of their friendship, untold story of their love, Shradha, but what happens when Sam gets hit by the enemy – across the border?

What will Arpan do to save his friend? Will love prevail over friendship of lifetime?

There is a decision to be made, is the life without love, and friends, better than dying to save the one who love the most?

Review : Adhira by Aditti Gaur.

Adhira
Love : Lost & Found

Author : Aditti Gaur

Publishers : Authors' Ink Publications

ISBN : 978-93-85137-13-6

My Review:-

Adhira.
What does Adhira mean? Any guesses?
No.
So let me help you.
Adhira is a Hindi word which means lightning; strong.
As the meaning of the name says, so is our main protagonist Adhira. A simple living married girl who runs her own music studio. She has achieved whatever she wanted in life. So she wanted to give opportunities to others in the field of music. She was married to Akshit for 5 years who mostly lived away and meet her once or twice a year. Her life was good and happiness all around with what she had achieved when she came to know that she hadn't much time left. She was suffering from bone marrow aplasia. She expected her life partner to be beside her in her last days. Instead he came with divorce papers and left immediately after it was signed by her.

What trauma will Adhira go through when she will see the divorce papers?
Who will be that one person who will always be beside her?
Will Adhira undergo a treatment to cure the disease or die leaving her family and friends?
Whom does Adhira meet on her way to Gurgaon?
How does Adhira help Anirudh and Sarika to sort out their differences?
Who was that lost love of Adhira? Will she able to find him? Will they be able to become one again?

You need to read this novel to get all the answers.

The beginning of the novel is very good and hooks the reader to it. However as the story progresses it gets very slow in the middle where I feel as if the story got stagnant for a while. Though the author has tried to catch up later however I feel thats too late for it.
Morever when you read a story you expect the story to end whether its on good note or bad, doesn't matter the story should end. However here I was very much upset when I was left in the middle unknown about what happened to Adhira after she underwent the treatment or whether she married her love or not?

Secondly I didn't like the numerous characters in the story and the innumerous grammatical mistakes.  The grammatical mistakes made reading difficult.
An author should always remember to keep the number of characters as low as possible. It was very difficult to remember the characters. I would often turn the pages back as to remember who the person was. So I would suggest the author to keep the numbers low next time when she write a novel.

Overall a good novel to read and know about different kind of people living together. You can find most of it here. It has all the drama, love, romance one expects. So I think it won't upset rom-com readers and would be a good one over a cup of tea.
